Ludwigia glandulosa can be a frustrating plant. We recommend it only to hobbyists with CO2 supplimentation, because we have found it does not do very well without a carbon source. However, given enough CO2, this plant is easy to grow, although it is still slow. It is a native of North America, and is quite common in wetlands, ditches, and ponds. Other than increasing CO2, it requires high lighting to achieve reasonable growth rates. A water temperature of 22 to 28 degree Celsius or higher is sufficient for this plant. When its demands are met, it can be a beautiful centerpiece for a large aquarium.
