Limnophila sessiliflora or Asian Ambulia originated in Southeast Asia. This is a very easy plant to care for.  In fact, because it grows so well and so fast, it is deemed a Noxious Aquatic Weed by the US government, and is banned from import.  Thus, we can only provide this plant to countries with a cold winter (like Canada) that will prevent it from harming native ecosystems if it were to get into environment.  If you have this species and you live in an area where it is not native, please remember to compost any trimmings to insure it goes not ‘get loose’ and become a pest species.  In countries that allow this plant, it is a great aquarium plant because it is easy to grow and is beautiful.  The whorled, feathered leaves add contrast to other thicker leaved species.  It looks best when planted in bunches or left to float, and can be used as floating cover to help frightened species feel more secure.
