Perhaps one of the most mysterious new plants to come to the attention of hobbyists, Lomariopsis lineata, or as it is known in Germany, Suesswassertang (freshwater seaweed) is actually the gametophyte of a fern, and not a liverwort as was previously thought. Fern gametophytes are usually very small, while the dominate and distinctive form is the sporophyte. Suesswassertang is a beautiful addition to any aquarium, and will thrive in a wide range of conditions.
